Facts about Ramsay Hunt Syndrome: Tips to treat this rare neurological disorder

Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS) is a rare neurological disorder accompanied by paralysis of the facial nerve (facial palsy) and a rash affecting the ear or mouth but there is not much awareness regarding it. The varicella-zoster virus is the factor causing Ramsay Hunt syndrome and it is the same virus that leads to chickenpox and shingles. If one has this syndrome then the virus will infect the facial nerve near the inner ear which causes irritation and swelling of the nerve. It is seen in adults and occurs rarely in children. Not only are eye bags caused by excess of skin but they can also be caused by the fat pad slipping off its location or the loosening of muscle under your skin can also be the cause of eye bags or dark circles.
