The latest edition of the drill will take place in the backdrop of the ongoing India-China border friction along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

China’s armed forces have so far not made any announcement about deploying fighter aircraft near the border though it is likely fighter jet squadrons are stationed near the long and disputed border with India.

The 15-day drill was the biggest joint air force exercise involving the Chinese and fighter aircrafts from a foreign country, the Chinese military said it was the most comprehensive in terms of equipment used and involved the most “complete combat unit”.
