National Girl Child Day 2024: Top 5 government girl child schemes in India

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY): Under this savings program parents have the opportunity to establish an account for a girl child from her birth until the age of 10. Contributions to the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account range from a minimum of ₹250 to a maximum of ₹1.5 lakh per year. The account matures either after 21 years from its opening or upon the girl's marriage after she turns 18. The interest rate of this scheme is revised by the central government on a quarterly basis.
