Boat in Godavari tragedy that killed 27 found at depth of 200 feet

The intense search operations by the teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) for the last two days did not yield any results until Tuesday morning, though the authorities managed to locate the overturned boat in the water using sensors.

Dozens still missing after sight-seeing boat capsized in Godavari killing 8

While 27 people were rescued by members of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local villagers, eight bodies were recovered as of late Sunday evening, officials said. Rescue operations, however, were hampered due to heavy flow of water and darkness.

In Andhra, many villages marooned as Godavari continues to swell for 5th day

According to reports from Bhadrachalam, flood water entered the halls where lunch is served to the devotees free-of-cost in the temple premises, besides shopping complexes around the temple. The authorities are pumping out water from the temple vicinity.

Flood situation continues to be grim in Andhra as Godavari river swells

Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday made an aerial survey of the flood-ravaged areas of East and West Godavari districts and conducted a review with his cabinet colleagues and officials on the relief measures being taken in the areas.

Rainfall continues to lash Maharashtra; swollen Godavari floods Andhra

For Mumbai and adjoining areas, the day was marked by more flooding, evacuations, deaths, public transport disruptions and long traffic jams. At least four persons died in rain-related incidents in Mumbai, Pune and Palghar districts, while a man is missing after he fell into a swollen nullah in Dharavi.
