Police: 6-year-old girl, mother both were gang-raped in car in Haridwar

According to the police, the incident took place on Friday night when the minor girl and her mother were heading to Roorkee from Kaliyar, Haridwar in a rickshaw. “The accused gang-raped the mother-daughter duo before leaving them in a secluded place near the Ganga Canal stretch and fled in the car,” an officer said, requesting anonymity.

SC grants interim bail to Haridwar hate speech accused

While granting the relief, a bench of justices Ajay Rastogi and Vikram Nath directed Tyagi to submit an undertaking that he would not give in any hate speech or make any such statements on electronic, digital or social media platforms.

  • Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made the remark when asked about the demands of seers in Haridwar to prohibit the entry of non-Hindus to Char Dham shrines. The Char Dham shrines include the Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath and the annual yatra attracts lakhs of pilgrims.
