Ray of hope? Study claims Hepatitis C drugs can be effective against Covid-19

The study, conducted by the US’ Department of Energy, found that drugs used to treat Hepatitis C can be effective against Protease, a protein enzyme which has the ability to help Sars-Cov-2 spread in human cells.

IICT partners with Mylan for combination therapy trials

The institute had identified first three combination therapies, for Phase 3 clinical trials, based on computational modelling of molecules and laboratory-based data. Another five combinations are also in the works and will be finalised after preliminary data for the same is received.
The trial sites for the combination therapies are yet to be identified, but the institute hopes to collaborate with hospitals in four to five cities in India.(REUTERS)

Hepatitis C-positive livers safe for transplantation: Study

According to a recent study, patients who received a transplanted liver infected with hepatitis C, and were treated for the infection later, showed good signs of recovery.
