5 killed in accident in Andhra’s Anantapur while trying to rescue another victim

This is the second such incident in the Telugu states in the last two weeks. On December 4, a speeding car travelling from Telangana’s Karimnagar to Hyderabad hit the road divider, resulting in the death of three passengers.
The incident happened at Raghavampalli village of Bathalapalli block at around 7 pm. The deceased were identified as Rajasekhar (20), Srinivasulu (40), Sivamma (50), Suri (45) and Vali Saheb (50).(HT FILE PHOTO.)

‘Something is on’: Official on Maoist leader Ganapathi’s offer to surrender

It is learnt Ganapathi has decided to surrender owing to his ill-health. He is said to be suffering from asthma, diabetes and also severe joint pains. Though he is still part of the central committee of the Maoist party, he had not been very active in the movement.

With 1,873 new cases, Telangana’s Covid-19 tally stands at 1,24,963

As many as 37,791 samples were tested on August 30. Cumulatively, 13,65,582 samples have been tested.The samples tested per million population was 36,782, a government bulletin said.

4 deaths mark highest Covid-19 casualties in Telangana in 50 days

An official bulletin from the Telangana medical and health department late in the evening said four deaths were reported from different parts of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), taking the overall death toll due to Covid-19 in the state to 38.

Man found dead in Telangana’s Karimnagar, honour killing suspected

Police said Gaddi Kumar had been in love with a girl from an adjacent village. Her parents did not approve of the relationship as they belonged to different castes. Kumar went to talk to the girl on Monday evening and did not return. His body was later found in the fields.
