The Bihar boy died on Friday night during treatment after he was allegedly beaten and his genitals were mutilated by the girl's family in the state's Muzzafarpur district.

Five have been booked and one has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in the area of Muzaffarpur, the police said. The age of the girl yet to be examined.

Muzaffarpur station house officer of the Government Railway Police, Dinesh Kumar Sahu, said that the deceased, Rajesh Kumar Chowdhary, boarded the train from Ahmedabad with his wife, Chhaya Devi, and two children.

A total of 1.463 candidates have filed their papers for contesting the elections for the 94 seats that will go to polls in the second phase of the Bihar assembly elections, on Tuesday. However, of these, more than 200 contestants have not filed their income tax return before filing the papers for the election.

The CBI has said that evidence of “gross negligence” was found on part of public servants and NGOs running the shelter homes in several cases, and reports have been sent to Bihar government for taking departmental action against erring government officials and also for cancellation of registration of NGOs and blacklisting them and their office bearers.
