MSEDCL cracks the whip against govt offices over unpaid power bills

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) is disconnecting power supply to government offices in order to recover unpaid electricity bills. The outstanding amounts of government offices in western Maharashtra have reached ₹21.40 crore.

MSEDCL faces financial crunch as defaulters pile up arrears

UPPCL chief suspends staff for disruptions in power supply

The chairman said UPPCL had adopted a strict policy to ensure smooth electricity supply during the upcoming summer

The chairman ordered action against at least half a dozen personnel, including a TG who was suspended for delayed release of a power connection to a vehicle charging station in Prayagraj; and an SDO who was suspended for failure in ensuring timely restoration of supply after failure of a transformer in Mau, an official said. Residents of seven SRA buildings in Mumbai have been struggling after their power supply was cut off, leaving them without elevators and impacting their water supply. The lack of electricity is due to unpaid accumulated power, water, and property tax bills. The residents are demanding that the developer, Omkar Realtors and Developers, pay their outstanding dues, which amount to INR 95.23 lakh ($132,000). The power supply was temporarily restored after residents sought help from the guardian minister.
