Pakistan raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at the SAARC video conference meant to be a platform for brainstorming on the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan chose to skip the virtual meeting which was attended by the de facto heads of state of all the other member nations of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. Zafar Mirza, who attended the meeting in Khan's stead, raised the issue of J&K, claiming that the 'lockdown' in the region should be removed to allow better response to Coronavirus.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a video conference of SAARC leaders over the issue of Coronavirus pandemic. Ashraf Ghani, President of Afghanistan; Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, President of Maldives; Gotabaya Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka; Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh; KP Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Nepal; Lotay Tshering, Prime Minister of Bhutan; and Zafar Mirza, Minister of State for Health, Pakistan, were a part of the virtual meeting. All the leaders suggested region-wide measures to curb the incidence of Coronavirus infection. PM Modi also pitched a special Covid-19 fund, for which he offered $10 million as India's contribution.
