The legislative assembly secretariat issued a bulletin in this regard, quoting the leader of Opposition and SP leader Ramgobind Chaudhary having moved a petition seeking Shivpal’s cancellation of membership on the basis of ‘disqualification on ground of defection rules, 1987’.
Shivpal parted ways with the SP in August last year to form a political front Samajwadi Secular Morcha. Later, he floated his political party (PSPL).

On Tuesday, Mulayam Singh Yadav visited brother Shivpal’s political HQ before zipping off to the Samajwadi Party office where he met son Akhilesh and party workers and asked them to strengthen the party.
