A video of the brutal beating went viral on social media on Thursday prompting the police to conduct an inquiry into it but by then the alleged thief had been booked under the Arms Act and sent to jail.

As per information, the men came in a Chevrolet Cruze car at around 2.30am. As soon as they got off the car, some street dogs started barking at them but they sedated the dogs. They then broke open the ATM with a gas cutter and made off with the cash.

The accused led the police to the recovery of nine stolen mobile phones, nine bunches of keys with scores of keys that would fit into locks of cars, two-wheelers, houses,etc, silver jewellery, half a dozen ATM cards, anklets, etc which he stole, remanded to judicial custody.
