Actor Aishwarya Sakhuja, who was recently seen in the second season of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, feels that doing comedy was the best decision she ever took. “I was getting offers for comedy shows from many years. I started my career with a drama, then did a thriller. My third show was Trideviyaan. After all this worked for me, I was offered Sarabhai. Many might think that this was my first show with Aatish Kapadia [creator of the hit series], but we had started another project earlier, which didn’t take off,” says the actor, shot to fame with her show Saas Bina Sasuraal (2010).

“Kisi ko rulaana bauhat asaan hota hai, but hasaana mushkil. (It’s easier to make someone cry, but making someone laugh is hard). You end up honing your skills [doing comedy]. Your natural talent reaches another level,” adds Aishwarya.

The actor compares daily soaps and love stories with comedy. “A comedy show is not just about one boy and one girl. It’s about the entire cast making the product look the way it does. Even the supporting actors are seasoned, so you end up learning more from them. At times, when you come back home (and think about it), you realize, ‘Oh, I don’t know how to act!’” laughs the 31-year-old, who was also seen in the show Comedy Classes.
