He isn’t a trained stunt rider. But at the age at 14, when Jorian Ponomareff got his hands on his first motorcycle, he knew something felt right.

Since then, the 24-year-old has been practicing and experimenting with new techniques on the two-wheeler. “I tried to master the nuances without being deterred by failure,” says Ponomareff, before adding quickly, “because continuous innovation is the key.” Surprisingly, he has never hurt himself seriously.

Yet, in a conditions-apply-tone, he warns everyone else: "Stunts are intense and challenging. They involve a great deal of risk and should be done under supervision and guidance of an expert." Explaining that it is primarily the balance between the physical body and the mind that’s the secret behind his stability on a speeding bike.

But when asked what stunt he calls his most dangerous to date, he corrects us, “I would consider it the riskiest. I was doing a ‘combo circle wheely’ at the edge of a pool. I had to circle it and maintain a high speed. The fun and excitement of living life on the edge keeps me going.”

And that’s the reason he lent his skill to Pulsar MTV’s Stuntmania Underground Season 3, which went on air on Sunday 7 pm. “I kept three essentials in mind while designing the stunts for them — fun, adventure and safety. Incorporating elements like a basketball or a bucket makes things more interesting,” says the expert, who will take the winner of the show back to France, his country, and train him. One of the toughest stunts he has created for the show is called the ‘container yard race’. “It involves jumping from a ramp, passing through different containers in a row and end with shattering the glass shield. This one is deadly,” reveals the rider, who lives in France.
