He rose to fame post his stint on American Idol and now, Sanjaya Malakar is back on the show I am a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, in which he’s “looking to survive out in the jungle.” However, he still hasn’t reconciled himself with the tag of being a 'celebrity'.

“It’s hard for me to be asked to be on a show called I’m a Celebrity because it hasn’t really hit me that I’m technically a celebrity. I’m still this kid who was on a show and now trying to do music,” says the singer of Indian origin who’s
popular for his wacky hairdos.

India calling
Malakar says that if he wins the Star World show, the money will go to his father’s organisation “that gets money, education, food and shelter for orphans in India.” His Indian connect doesn’t end here — the 19-year-old, who has been to India twice, says if Bollywood ever calls, he’ll be listening.

"I’m definitely planning on coming back to India because my entire family is there. I don’t know Hindi and I’d love to learn before I make a movie. I love Indian music and Bollywood movies," he says.
