It's that time of the year when hot babes in swimsuits freeze their best frames to make for eye-catching, collectible calendars. This time around, much like elsewhere, going 'real' is the big thing.

It's that time of the year when hot babes in swimsuits freeze their best frames to make for eye-catching, collectible calendars. From the Kingfisher swimsuit calendar to Maxim, Sports Illustrated and Pirelli, calendars have already been drawn on draft boards and themes decided. But this time around, much like elsewhere, going 'real' is the big thing. The much-awaited Kingfisher calendar has already entered the reality show format.

The makers of the calendar have tied up with a leading channel for a reality show to search for the calendar girl. Titled 'The Hunt for the Kingfisher Calendar Girl 2010', the winner of the show will get an entire month to herself on the calendar. At the time of going to press, the search had been narrowed down to three final contestants in Goa. Ace photographer Atul Kasbekar, who is shooting the calendar, spoke with HT City from Goa.

"We have been shooting here for the last 11 days and are almost finished with the schedule. Reality TV is where every one is looking for visual entertainment. We received over 100 requests from people to be featured in the calendar this year so we decided to have a proper hunt for that face." On the lines of this, but with a different approach, a portal, has launched a search for faces for its swimsuit calendar 2010.

DU student Vaibhav Arora says he eagerly awaits these calendars, so that he can "download a hot pic" from the Internet. However, advertising professional Swati says it"s unfair that these calendars are sent only by invite and she can"t have one.
