Sudhanshu Pandey is back on the tube as a con-man in Monica Mogre Case Files.Nikhil Taneja tells more.

Three years after his last television appearance as a cop in Akela, Sudhanshu Pandey is back on TV, and this time he plays a character on the other side of the law, in Monica Mogre Case Files.

After a supporting role in last year’s big screen blockbuster Singh is Kinng, Sudhanshu plays Hritvik Shroff, a criminal who lures rich girls, marries them and then kills their family for the property. It is a 12-episode case-story which the lead actress, Parakh Madan, has to solve. Madan is a cop in the show.

This is the first time Pandey is portraying a negative character and is evidently excited about it. “It’s a role with multiple shades,” he says, adding, “You don’t get such opportunities on TV often.” Ask him what tips he gave Madan, he laughs, “I gave her tips on how to be a criminal — there’s a lot more money on that side.”

Pandey dons five different get-ups, including that of a Sardar, a Bengali and a Gujarati man, with different dialects and body language.

The former member of the pop group, Band of Boys, says he is open to reality TV, not as a participant but as a host. He says, “TV is the strongest medium today. Even Bollywood actors need to appear on it to promote their films. I would love to host an adventure-based reality show like Khatron Ke Khiladi, I love interacting with people.”
