Ekta scouting for Jodha Akbar

Ekta Kapoor, is on a countrywide search for actors for her historical saga Jodha Akbar.

Ekta Kapoor, who rarely deviates from her formula of portraying family intricacies in her television soaps, is now set to bring the historical saga Jodha Akbar to the small screen. She will travel across India to many cities and attend every audition personally to handpick the right actors for the roles of Mughal emperor Akbar and his Hindu wife Jodha bai.

In fact, she has already started a countrywide search. “It’s tough to cast faces that have an enigma and old world charm, that are not very synthetic. While casting for an era so old, you realise that every face has to be looked at carefully,” said Ekta.
