Tube regulars since the ’90s, Mandira Bedi, Mini Mathur, Achint Kaur and Tanaaz Irani reveal their fitness mantras.

Mini Mathur, 37
Famous for: Hosting Indian Idol. She started her career as a VJ on MTV.
Fitness secret: “Fitness is important in our lifestyles. Also, shopping is easier when you look good. I do high impact functional training as it burns fat. I eat in moderation, avoiding dessert and fried food, but I never skip meals. Even while working, I focus on what I eat, I eat every two hours and stay hydrated. At home, I bake and cook, so I end up tasting stuff, which adds to the calories.”

Tanaaz Irani, 40
Famous for: Her role of a young Parsi girl trying to learn Hindi in Zabaan Sambhal Ke (’90s), and the more recent Bigg Boss (Season 3, 2009). Tanaaz began with films, before doing serials like Ye Meri Life Hai and Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil.
Fitness secret: “I remain fit for myself and my kids. I enjoy doing yoga, as I feel it is safer and more effective as you grow older. I also enjoy walking. Bakthiyar (husband) and I own a dance school in Dubai where we have dancercise sessions, a mix of dancing and exercising. So, one never gets bored.”

Achint Kaur, 42
Famous for: Roles in shows like Banegi Apni Baat (1994) and Swabhimaan (1995). She did many strong roles, mostly negative, with her last one being that of Ladai Sarkar in Jhansi Ki Rani.
Fitness secret: “Maintaining your body should be a daily habit, like eating food is. I was a national athlete as a teenager, so working out is part of my system and nature. For me, my diet the is most important aspect of my regimen. I eat five meals a day, and they cover everything in moderation, even dessert. I work out four times a week, doing weights, circuit training, cardio and cycling.”
