A choreographer by profession, Roopal landed this lead role by chance. From kissing on screen to adhering to the modern outfits in the show, this 23-year-old sure has a lot going for her. We only hope now that Gunjan is married, the story doesn’t tailspin into a clichéd saas-bahu track.
Surbhi Jyoti
Surbhi Jyoti has made a mark with her effervescent character Zoya Ahmed Farooqui in Qubool Hai. Unlike other women on TV, Zoya isn’t cast from the same mould. She comes across as a refreshing change from the whimpering, desolate women on soaps. Surbhi essays the contemporary Muslim girl with aplomb even as she straddles the fence between tradition and modernity with panache. while maintaining innocence. Zoya’s often confused state of mind about matters of the heart, makes her someone girls can relate to.
The 23-year-old Punjabi girl loves the fact that her hit show is unlike other serials on TV.
Sonarika Bhadoria
Mischievous, talkative and outgoing, Sonarika had apprehensions initially about playing a role as grand as Parvati in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev. Yet Sonarika has got into the skin of her character very well. Her beauty works best for the role of a Goddess. Learning her dialogues in pure Hindi is her only Achilles’ heel but the popularity of the show and the variation in her character keep her going strong.
Surprisingly, she had started her career with a dud show, Tum Dena Saath Mera, and at one point, even planned to quit television altogether.
