Ashvini Yardi, programming head, says that as long as the performer keeps the judges and live audience hooked, he or she will be ‘in’. The reality show will be produced by Siddhartha Basu’s Synergy Adlabs. It’s the brainchild of the American Idol judge Simon Cowell and has had spin-offs in the U S, France, Germany and Australia.

Stop right there
According to the format, the judges can stop the participants midway through their acts. Won’t this create unwanted drama? “We have never believed in fake drama. The judges’ call is final,” says Basu firmly.

Yardi adds that since public voting will come in at a later stage, there can be no foul play. Both Yardi and Basu maintain that the judges and hosts have yet to be finalised. Meanwhile, online reports say that Preity Zinta could be on the jury.
Yardi says, that the host won’t be someone “as big” as Akshay Kumar or Shilpa Shetty. They don’t want to intimidate the contestants.
