Having worked in a single TV show, Uttaran, for five long years, actor
has made a name for herself in the television circuit.
However, she has also made news for her mercurial temperament and that has led to her being tagged a tantrum queen. In this interview, Tina rubbishes the allegations made against her and clears rumours about her personal life.

Most actors get bored of acting in the same show for a long time. What about you?
I’m not bored and would want Uttaran to continue for another five years. It has been an essential part of my career. Though, I’d love to take up another show or maybe host or participate in a reality show, I don’t have that kind of spare time.
You have an image of being an arrogant person who throws tantrums. Does that bother you?
It does bother me. I don’t throw any such attitude; I’m a down-to-earth person. I demand what is due, talk upfront and I am blunt. If people consider this as tantrums, in that case, I’m a tantrum queen. I am who I am, and won’t change.
Your love life is often in the news — from your previous relationship to your current link-up with (businessman) Paresh Mehta. There are photos of the two of you together on the Internet. Are you dating him?
Absolutely not. I was in a relationship a while ago but, right now, I’m single. I’ve a group of friends and I hang out with them. I haven’t gone out only with Paresh. I’ve been clicked while hugging many guys like (actors) Gaurav Chopraa, Mrunal Jain and Shashank Vyas, as I’m a friendly person. But that doesn’t mean that I’m dating all of them.
Do you think talks about your personal life could affect your career?
No, but my personal life doesn’t need to be talked about in the media either. When I get married, I will announce it. I don’t appreciate loose talk about my personal life. Tomorrow, if I find the right guy, I will get married. I don’t believe in a live-in relationship or dragging a relationship for four to five years to see where it goes. I’m homely but I want to enjoy my life for another four years before I get married.

A show you like on TV currently?
Diya Aur Baati Hum has been at the number one position for two years now. They have commendable ratings.
An actor do you feel is popular?
Ram Kapoor is immensely popular. He has done multiple roles and is a brilliant actor.
A habit you want to get rid of?
I’m short tempered, and would like to be more patient.
What topics do you want to see on TV?
Almost every kind of content seems to be already on TV. Even topics that are touched upon in films are seen on TV.
