It’s a dream come true! That’s how Rajasmita Kar, the winner of the third season of the dance reality show, Dance India Dance, describes her victory.

Talking about her journey, the 20-year-old girl who hails from Rourkela (Odisha), says, “It was not a easy journey. I had quit my studies to prepare for the show. As I wanted to prove that girls are in no way lesser than boys when it comes to stunts, I mastered stunts and the hip-hop style. I never thought I would win the show, but now that I have, I really feel like a star.”

Kar, whose mentor in the show was choreographer Geeta Kapoor, maintains that actor Sridevi is her idol when it comes to dance. “I learnt dancing by imitating Sridevi. I loved her expressions and tried copying them,” she says.

As for her plans for the future, Kar, who won herself a car on the show, a house from Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and a cheque of R3 lakh from the Rourkela Steel Plant, says, “Bollywood is on my radar. I want to be the best Bollywood dancer. Also, I want to open a dance school and train young children.”
