Are you looking at reinventing yourself with this new web series?

It’s too late in life to reinvent myself. I am just repackaging myself now.

A lot of memes about you did the rounds online last year. Do you think your image makeover will lead to another series of jokes?

This will be a contrast to my current image. My leg was pulled on social media with memes and jokes due to my ‘sanskaari’ image. And now that I have changed, let’s see how original people get with their jokes.

What do you think about the growing popularity of web series and online content?

What was your reaction when you were approached for this show that’s based on adult themes?

I was a bit apprehensive initially, but after a few meetings and discussions, I was convinced that this is something quirky and funny.

Sex, as a topic, is still considered a taboo in India. Were you comfortable talking about it?

This topic is new for me. But I felt I should try a concept like this before hanging up my boots. People find it odd when an older person talks about sex. Instead, it is accepted from a younger person. Having said that, I do feel awkward talking about such topics.

What kinds of reactions are you expecting from the audience?

Some people will be shocked, while others will enjoy it. The younger generation hasn’t seen me in any other image or role other than playing ‘Babuji’.
