“I was shocked to hear from a few creatives and friends that people think I’m trying to get pregnant or already am. Such rumours do affect one’s career as no one will ask me about it upfront and simply assume that the news is true,” says Mahii. She adds, “These rumours were being circulated during the reality show too. I had people asking me if I was pregnant. I don’t know why such stories are being cooked up.”

She is angrier about the news of her abortion that came out a while after her wedding. Mahii says, “That was hurtful as it not only affected us, but our families too.” The actor says she’s not thinking of becoming a mother right now. “I have no plans for two-three years at least. Jay (Bhanushali, husband) is ready, but I need some time. It’s been three years since my marriage and I don’t feel the need for a third person in my life yet. We are engrossed with each other.”
