The organisers sent an email to ticket-holders announcing the decision. A Twitter post by the organisers said: "We regret to announce that the Jerry Seinfield shows scheduled to take place this weekend (March 14-15) have been cancelled. Fans who have purchased tickets for the show will be issued a full refund by Wednesday (March 18). Details about the same have been emailed to all ticket buyers, and fans can call our special helpline 91-22650444 from Monday onwards or email help@insider.in to address any queries regarding the same.

"This cancellation is unavoidable due to circumstances beyond the artists' and our control. Issues related to traffic and parking at the venue, which were brought to our attention only a couple of days ago, forced the cancellation of all artists travel arrangements pending a resolution of these logistical issues. But in spite of our best efforts to resolve these matters with the authorities quickly, which resulted in suitable alternate parking and traffic plans being arranged, this was not in time to re-organise the required artist travel logistics," the post added.

Interestingly, S Jaykumar, deputy commissioner of police, zone 3, had told Hindustan Times on Thursday, “We will be issuing a formal permission to the organisers of the show. They have presented a plan stating that they have acquired parking spaces around the venue that can accommodate around 1,800 cars. They said they will have enough number of staff members to take care that the show doesn’t inconvenience people."
