The Star Wars VII director has teamed up with Alfonso Cuaron for this mystery-laden drama series.

While Comic-Con was in full swing in San Diego (July 18-21), NBC took advantage of the event to provide a brief preview of Believe. The new trailer presents a show combining the fictional worlds of J.J. Abrams (Lost, Fringe) and Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men).
The video's opening scene shows a violent attempt to kidnap a young girl endowed with supernatural powers, played by Johnny Sequoyah. Next, a mysterious preacher (Delory Lindo) helps an inmate with a Christ-like appearance (Jake McLaughlin) to escape from jail and become the young girl's protector. Believe will take its place in NBC's line-up sometime in 2014.
The show will launch with a pilot episode directed by Alfonso Cuaron himself. Believe will not be the only J.J. Abrams show on the airwaves next season. From November, Fox will present Almost Human, a police drama set in a future universe full of robots. Not to mention Person of Interest and Revolution, both of which will enter a new season this fall.
