, says a report. The Aussie singer has revealed that she would like to follow the footsteps of her younger sister Dannii by becoming a mentor to the contestants.

Kylie told a US TV network that she’s interested in participating in the planned show. Cowell is to bring the successful reality TV talent format to the US in the autumn of 2011, but as yet, there have been no announcements as to the make up of the judging panel on the planned show.

A source told the

Daily Star

that Cowell has been keen to get Kylie to agree to join the

X Factor

team, but claimed that she had resisted his offers until now.
