Amitabh Bachchan shot the first promo for Kaun Banega Crorepati 5 on Wednesday at Kemps Corner. The bungalow, named Camelot, has previously been used to shoot portions of Paa (2009) with Paresh Rawal and Abhishek. The actor has also finished dubbing for the audio-visual, which will go on air between May 8 and 10.

The promo will call for nationwide entries, for which the first question will be aired on May 27 at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment. Chances are that it may also be aired at the same time on SET Max in the middle of the the IPL semi-final. This time, Bachchan has been styled by Rohit Bal, Delhi based designer. Ravi Bajaj had dressed the host for the previous season, which had started off with the highest TRP rating for a celebrity-based reality show, 6.2 points.

Bachchan’s blog states that the show is expected to start by August 2011, but the channel’s spokespersons refused to comment. It is learnt from reliable sources that initially, plans were to launch the show closer to the star-anchor’s birthday in October, in the same manner as last year. The date was advanced to August, before which his home production Bbuddah – Hoga Tera Baap is slated to release in July, followed by Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan in the second week of August. At the time of going to press, it’s said that the channel is now planning to bring the show between September-October, closer to the festive season.

“Camelot is an architectural delight in the middle of high rise concrete jungles. Most properties here are either under litigation or dispute. I cannot say for this particular one, but thank God for the legal constraints,” he writes about the location of his shoot, adding, “At least nothing happens to the structure until the court settles the matter. The architecture is saved from being bought over by some real estate developer and building a massive 40-storied tower.”
