His role in Rahul Dholakia’s upcoming action-thriller, Lamhaa, was axed to avoid controversy. But TV actor Ajaz Khan is unperturbed.
“My role was of a militant-turned-politician named Kuku Pare, a real-life character. It has been completely chopped because the director and producer thought it might invite trouble for the film,” said Khan, who has worked in shows such as Karam Apna Apna, Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka, Rahe Tera Ashirwaad and Kahani Hamare Mahabharat Ki. “I have no issues. I worked hard for the character, but it’s fine. There were too many controversies surrounding the film. I understand the decision to chop the role was for the film’s betterment,” he said.

Lamhaa, written and directed by Dholakia, has been mired in controversies since the beginning —whether it was about selection of the lead actress or the Censor raising objection to the movie’s promos.
