Actor and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha’s first episode of
Ke Bani Karodpati
on Mahuaa Bhojpuri will feature former cabinet minister and BJP leader Yashwant Sinha. But the list of political celebrities doesn’t stop there. A couple of weeks into the show, Bihar’s current chief minister for two spells, Nitish Kumar (Janta Dal United), and former union railway minister Laloo Prasad Yadav (Rashtriya Janta Dal) will make it to the hot seat to answer questions and win a handsome amount to donate to charity.
Apparently, the original Bihari Babu, as Shatrughan Sinha is addressed, will invite the guests on the show soon. “

is not a platform for any party’s political agendas. I will welcome everyone who wishes to do something for the language and a noble cause. For instance, I’m doing this show to get Bhojpuri its due space in the list of nationally accepted languages,” insists the host. “The language is among the highest spoken regional languages. It’s the mother tongue of some of the most prominent leaders that our soil has produced. I want to promote, project and protect it.”
Would he initiate the process of inviting the political bigwigs on his TV debut show? “There’s protocol for everything,” says Sinha. “I think it’s the producer (Siddharth Basu from Big Synergy) and the channel’s prerogative to invite whomsoever they wish to. If they ask me to help, I’ll do whatever I can.”
The 1970s star also insists that being on this show will help him connect with his constituency well. “My amma (mother) spoke this language, though my father spoke Magahi. Even today, when I go home, I speak in Bhojpuri. It’s my way of connecting with the common people,” says Sinha, who also feels that the show is not for celebrities, but for commoners who should be given an opportunity to win Rs 1 crore. “I’ve never seen that much money. I know the amount is valuable. So whoever lands a chance to sit on the hot seat should make the most of it.”
