Our favourite TV stars choose a friend from the pages of history
TV celebs choose a friend from among historical characters.
Imagine life without friends. Impossible right! We need our pals to share our joys and sorrows and laugh and cry. A friend is someone who is always there for you. But how about making a friend from the pages of history? HT asks actors from the television industry to choose a personality from the pages of history they would want as a friend.

Nawab Shah
I would like to be friends with Rajneesh Osho, so that I could get to know him better. He was a man who knew much beyond the human mind. I would love to interact with him to know more about the body, soul and the way of living.

Karishma Tanna
I have my reasons to be friends with the one and only Mahatma Gandhi. He was not only the Father of the Nation but also a Gujarati. I, too, am a proud Gujarati. What Gandhiji has done for our nation is definitely commendable.

Hiba Nawab
Chacha Nehru (Jawaharlal Nehru) is the person I would like to be friends with. Not only do we share our birthdays but I also admire him for his love for children. He was also a great orator and his overall persona was very impressive.

Kunal Jaisingh
Given my current show where I play an artist, I have grown this sudden passion for art. Given a chance, I would definitely want to meet the late MF Hussain. I am sure meeting and getting to know him will be a wonderful experience. For sure his insights and experiences will be worth cherishing.

Siddhartha Arora
Given a chance I would love to bond with Bhagat Singh. The young, hot-blooded, go-getter, who didn’t think twice before giving up his life for his country at the tender age of 21, inspires me. In today’s age we are still trying to figure out our lives while at such a young age he was brave and knew exactly what he wanted. I personally feel his contribution to the freedom movement was much more than what is portrayed.

Ishita Dutta
I would like to be friends with Mother Teresa because like they say ‘you are judged by the company you keep’. Also I don’t know anyone else who has led a more selfless life. I would also like to be known for the good work I do. And by good work, I don’t just mean just professionally but also personally, which means helping others in whatever way I can. She has greatly inspired me.
