It looks as if the reality bug has bitten Jay Bhanushali big time. After being a contestant in Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa, Kaun Jeetega Bollywood ka Ticket and Tyohaar Dhamaka, Bhanushali will now anchor Dance India Dance.
The talent hunt on Zee TV features Tarana Raja Kapoor as his co-host and Mithun Chakraborthy as maha guru. It will replace Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009.
The former Kayamath actor says, “After Jhalak.. everyone said I could only dance. So I wanted to reveal another facet of mine by turning anchor.”
He doesn’t think Dance India Dance will face any competition from Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa 3, since the latter will take off later on Sony TV.
Equally good
“Both shows are equally good,” he says evasively, adding that there will be no gimmicks on Dance India Dance. The actor will shake a leg too, but only for the first episode.
Kaun Jeetega Bollywood ka Ticket didn’t quite shake things up. Bhanushali agrees, “It was in the news for all the wrong reasons, but at least I wasn’t one of them,” he shrugs.
The actor was also in the news after he nixed Ekta Kapoor’s Kahaani Hamaarey Mahabharat ki.. and quit Kayamath. He says he has stayed away from fiction serials deliberately. “New concepts are being accepted these days,” he insists.
