Looks like Star Plus wants a different flavour this time. The channel is contemplating dropping its Khiladi chef to rope in chhote nawab Saif Ali Khan for Masterchef India Season 2.
If all goes well, Saif Ali Khan would be hosting Masterchef India Season 2, replacing Akshay Kumar who anchored the first season.
The channel has approached Saif because of his fine taste for gourmet. The date diary of Akshay Kumar is full owing to prior engagements.
A source told Mid Day, "The channel feels that Saif has it in him. As he hails from a family of nawabs, good food has been a part and parcel of his life. And Akshay's busy calendar this year, does not leave him with time for the show."
Also the channel wants to ride on the wave of Bollywood stars appearing on television.
"With more and more B-Town stars doing television shows, the channel is roping in Saif. They feel he, too, should try his hand at the small screen," adds the source.
The channel would be making the announcement once Saif gives his nod.
