“You don’t always find your best friend in a spouse, but you can always find your spouse in your best friend. Our core values and styles are similar. The only difference is that she’s non-vegetarian and I’m a vegetarian,” he says.

Ganguly, meanwhile, can’t stop raving about her hubby: “It’s a big turn-on for me - that a man can hold my hand in front of the entire country and say, ‘Dimpy, will you marry me?’”

About the 13-year age gap between the two, Mahajan says, “I behave younger than my age, while she’s really mature. It’s just a technicality, really.” His views are echoed by Dimpy, who’s all too happy to “accept him the way he is”.
