Actor Kapil Sharma says people should be careful while posting stuff on social media.

TV star Kapil Sharma, who has Twitter and Facebook accounts, says negative use of social media is bad. “Nowadays, everyone is using social media. There are some foolish people too who open Twitter accounts. I have read tweets to (Barack) Obama asking for a visa. Imagine, social media has given us the right to even disturb the US president. I think social media should not be negatively used. Some posts spread a lot of negativity,” says the 35-year-old.

Kapil further says he has finally learnt to ignore rumours. “My family would react. People would land up at my house to ask my mother about rumours they heard about me. She didn’t know how to react. Initially this disturbed me but I feel that these things come with the job. I feel when you react to something, it becomes bigger. So now I’ve stopped reacting,” says Kapil, who says that with everyone taking to social media, the medium has become a convenient platform to say whatever you want to. But it’s important that it doesn’t get misused.
