On January 4, Pratyusha Banerjee filed a police complaint against eight men who barged into her house. However, the TV actor claims that she had to fight tooth and nail to get her complaint registered.
“The cops refused to register my complaint, as it might incriminate one of their own. I was at the police station for over three hours. Later, Dolly Bindra, corporator Geeta Yadav and municipal corporator Sheetal Mhatre came to my aid, and only then the DCP came to the station, and the complaint was registered,” she says.

In her complaint, Pratyusha stated that eight men barged into her flat in Kandivali claiming to be cops, and outraged her modesty. However, in a PTI report, a police officer has denied the allegation. He has further said that four policemen in civilian clothes went to her flat to speak to Rahul Singh (her boyfriend), against whom a warrant for a non-cognisable (NC) offence had been issued.
Aghast at the behaviour of the cops who refused to help her, Pratyusha says, “It took me three hours to convince them about my case, and another three for the complaint to be noted. It was a harrowing experience. If anyone can barge into anyone’s house claiming to be a cop, how do you guard yourself?” The actor also claims that one of the men, who came to her house, was at the police station, but ran away after spotting her.
