Primary schools in the UK will add characters from the US animated TV sitcom The Simpsons to their timetables in a bid to curb violence.

Students at eight Liverpool schools will watch violent scenes featuring the hit cartoon’s ‘Itchy and Scratchy’ characters, who are always trying to hurt or kill each other. “We are trying to get the message across that any action you take has a consequence,” said Support After Murder and Manslaughter Merseyside chairman Gaynor Bell.
