While it was a private, three-day affair, Vir insists it wasn’t a secret wedding, although it was a quiet one. "Both of us spend a lot of time amid a lot of people because of our professions (he’s a comedian and she’s an event manager). So, we wanted to have a small ceremony for our wedding. There were only about 100 people, comprised of family and close friends," says the actor.

We have also been told that the couple had booked a private beach in Negombo for three days for the celebrations. Another reason for keeping it a private affair was that Vir didn’t want much buzz around it. "It wasn’t a planned secrecy, but I preferred my wedding to not be a public affair. The rule at the event was that everyone switched off their smartphones to spend quality time with each other. And I’m glad that by doing so, they enjoyed connecting with other guests. We had a pool party, a rock concert, the sangeet ceremony, and then the

," says Vir.

Vir, who dated Shivani for five years, says, "We were living in for four years, and two years into it, we both knew we wanted to get married. But as I was busy with movies, I finally decided to tie the knot as I had a break between two films."

The actor is also planning to host a reception in Mumbai soon, wherein people from the industry will be invited.

Vir is quiet excited about 2015 as he has around 4-5 mainstream Bollywood films slated for release next year. It will also be an important year for him as all the characters he essays in these films would be unique, establishing his versatility on screen.

Santa Banta and Mastizaade are few of his films which will release in the first half of 2015.
