Former Friends star Courteney Cox has made her TV comeback as a 40-something woman dating men young enough to be her son.
The show, aptly called Cougar Town, has made the word ‘cougar’ a household term and aims to give insight into the cougar’s way of thinking.

What it doesn’t explain is the younger man’s perspective, just assuming him to be overpowered by lust. A few eligible bachelors in the city give us their take on this new trend.

21-year-old Rushil Nadkarni passes it off as a male tendency to find older women attractive. “Even Sigmund Freud would vouch for that,” he says. “But at the end of the day, we Indians are bound by our morals, which we must uphold. So while it’s ok to find Monica Bellucci hot, it must be left at that. There is only so much space that we can afford to let fantasies occupy.”

While cultural values may come in the way for a few, there are some who beg to differ. Rohit Nair, a media student, thinks it’s time men prioritise their own needs. “Today, age shouldn’t really be an issue. What matters more is compatibility. An older woman’s level of maturity is very desirable. Moreover, it doesn’t always have to be about you supporting her, she can support you too,” he justifies.
