Irish fans are winning hearts in France for being the most well behaved supporters, in sharp contrast to the rampant hooliganism and clashes in various French that have plagued the Euro 2016 so far.
There have been clashes between Russian and English fans, while Croatian supporters were pulled up for throwing flares on the pitch during matches. Six English fans have been arrested and 20 Russians were deported from France. Uefa also charged Russia with a fine and had warned of disqualification if there were incidents of further violence. Croatia was also fined 100,000 euros over crowd disturbances.

A young woman laughed as a large group of Irish fans sang ‘Can’t Take My Eyes off You’ and ‘Hey Baby’. One fan even managed to get a kiss from her!
Irish fans also sang “fix the car for the boys in green”, while others got about doing the job. Some just tried to stuff money into the window to compensate for the damage.

Irish fans in a train sang the lullaby “Twinkle twinkle little star...” for a babe while trying to keep the noise down after losing to Belgium 0-3.
Cleaning streets of Bordeaux
Many Irish fans were spotted cleaning the streets in Bordeaux. The act was also acknowledged by the mayor, who tweeted: “Le football comme on l’aime! Merci aux supporters #IRL, merci à notre police.” (Football as we love it! Thank you fans #IRL, thank you to our police)
