‘Standing firm’: PM Modi’s message from Varanasi amid anti-CAA protests

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his Lok Sabha constituency, Varanasi, on Sunday. He participated in various government and cultural programmes. One of the highlights of the visit was the unveiling of a 63-foot statue of late Deendayal Upadhyay, an RSS ideologue and Jana Sangh leader. PM Modi also launched projects worth over Rs 1,200 crore, as per reports. He also addressed a gathering of his electorate. In an allusion to protests witnessed across India and statements by a few countries, the Prime Minister said that his government was standing firm on decisions like the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019.
