The United States has yet again sent out a strong message to China and North Korea. At a time when North Korea is testing back-to-back missiles and China is attempting to strengthen its hold in the Indo-Pacific region, one of the most powerful weapons in the US Navy's arsenal made a rare appearance in Guam. USS Nevada – US’ ballistic missile submarine made a port call in Guam over the weekend. The US Navy said in a statement that the USS Nevada’s stop in Guam in the Western Pacific was a symbol of the United States’ commitment to the Indo-Pacific region. This comes days after the US Marine Corps revived a facility on Guam Island after a 68-year hiatus, and just days before the Marine Corps Installations Command hosts a renaming ceremony at its Asan Beach base on January 27. The USS Pennsylvania conducted a trip in Guam in 2016, the last time a US Navy boomer visited the island. While American frigates and destroyers are routinely docked at US naval ports or friendly countries, this one is different because it is a nuclear submarine. The 14 US Navy boomers' movements are generally closely kept secrets. Watch to know why China is threatened by USS Nevada and how it can help fight Beijing’s DF-26 missile.
