Maharashtra: Women government employees to get 180 days’ paid leave

Maharashtra cabinet has announced a special 180-day paid leave to women government employees in addition to the existing maternity leave. The decision was taken during Tuesday's cabinet meeting. The woman employee can take the leave in break thrice a year until the children turn 18. The leave can be availed by a male employee if the wife is dead and the children are under 18. Women constitute 25 to 30 percent of the 18 lakh government employees.
