Nirmala's 'UP type' remark stirs row; Congress fumes, demands apology from PM

- A political war of words has erupted over Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's 'UP Type' remark during a post-budget conference on February 1. While reacting to the statement of MoS Finance Pankaj Chaudhary where he slammed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for calling the budget 'zero sum', Nirmala Sitharaman had said that Pankaj Chaudhary gave the statement in UP style. Congress took offence to Nirmala's remark and demanded immediate apology from her and Prime Minister Modi for insulting the people of Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka Gandhi also tweeted that every person from Uttar Pradesh is proud of the state's culture and tradition. Watch how the political fight has unfolded.
