The frequency of trains will be five minutes in peak hours and 15 minutes in non-peak hours. According to BMRCL, trains will run from Monday to Friday & honour the weekend curfew. BMRCL said frequency of trains could be increased or decreased depending on patronage. BMRCL has decided to introduce smart tokens for single journeys in addition to smart cards. This will encourage the commuters to go for cashless transactions for top-ups. BMRCL added that the move will also help check the spread of coronavirus. Bengaluru metro has restarted after Karnataka govt eased covid curbs in the state. Restrictions have been relaxed due to decline in covid cases in the past few weeks.
