Covid update: Delhi schools to open for classes 10, 12; Russia mass vaccination

- From Delhi government opening schools to vaccine distribution, here are the top updates on the pandemic. Delhi government announced that schools will open for classes 10 and 12 starting January 18. Schools to reopen as board exams are nearing. This is the first time that Delhi is reopening schools since they were closed in March in view of Covid-19. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the government will provide Covid vaccine for free if the Centre doesn’t. Centre to start vaccination drive across India starting January 16. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the country will launch mass vaccination next week. In August 2020, Russia registered the first vaccine Sputnik V against Covid-19.
