Covid update: WHO on mixing doses; woman contracts 2 variants; IMA on 3rd wave

- From WHO advising against mixing vaccines to IMA warning about ‘potential super-spreader’ events, here are the top updates on coronavirus. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) asked the state governments to put up a bar on large gatherings as they could become “potential super-spreader” events. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan advised against mixing and matching of coronavirus vaccines. Also, researchers found that a 90-year-old woman died after contracting two Covid-19 variants. Researchers found both Alpha variant and Beta strain in the woman who tested positive in March.
