'Even a single death worries us': Nurses on challenges of working in Covid wards

As the second wave of Covid has put India’s healthcare system under severe stress, Nurses are at the forefront of the battle against the pandemic. Most of them work long hours in PPE kits and leave their families behind to help patients recover. Working in Covid wards is both physically and mentally challenging and lakhs of nurses in India are taking this challenge head-on. Increased exposure to the virus and shortage of critical equipment in healthcare facilities have only added to the challenge for many nurses in the country. Now, vaccinating the huge population of India has added to the workload.
