  • Delhi sounded the alarm over exacerbating shortage of oxygen on Tuesday. Manish Sisodia said some hospitals were left with only a few hours of life-saving supplies. The deputy CM added that oxygen is a crucial tool in the fight against Covid-19 crisis. Sisodia urged Centre to urgently boost deliveries of oxygen to Delhi hospitals. “We have been urging Centre to boost deliveries of oxygen to Delhi hospitals. No action was taken on our request to increase Delhi’s quota of oxygen supply. In many Delhi hospitals, medical oxygen is available for next 8-10 hours only. Oxygen is a crucial tool in the fight against the worsening Covid-19 crisis. If more oxygen isn't made available urgently, it could affect patients' lives,” he said. Meanwhile, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital said its oxygen stock was to last till 1am. The hospital has 485 Covid-19 beds, of which 475 are occupied.
